Shailesh Sangani is a celebrated stalwart of the gems and jewellery industry and the Founder and Managing Director of Priority Jewels, the Mumbai-based fine jewellery design and manufacturing house he established in 2007. He brings more than three decades of experience to the trade and is widely regarded as one of its most influential pioneers and mentors.
A builder of jewellery brands since the early 1990s, when India's economy first opened up, Mr. Sangani founded Priority Jewels with a clear vision: to craft lightweight, contemporary diamond-studded gold and platinum jewellery that marries traditional Indian artistry with modern technology and design. Today the company operates two state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Mumbai, equipped with advanced technologies, serving retailers across India and international markets, with a footprint extending to the US, Europe and the Gulf.
Beyond his own company, Mr. Sangani has been a driving force within the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the apex industry body under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, where he served as Convener of National Exhibitions. In that role he steered several of the industry's flagship platforms, including the landmark virtual editions of IIJS held during the pandemic. His contributions to trade policy and industry advancement have earned wide recognition, including induction into the GJEPC IIJS Signature Hall of Fame (2024) and a special contribution honour at the Retail Jeweller India Awards (2019). An advisor and mentor to many entrepreneurs and companies, Mr. Sangani continues to drive the strategic direction of Priority Jewels with the foresight, acuity and determination that have defined his career.
